A Lick of Paint for Wexford

Wexford’s Main Street is to get a make-over thanks to an innovative project headed up by Wexford Chamber, Wexford Borough Council, Wexford Tidy Towns and Dulux. The aim of the project is to give the Main Street a new look and to transform our shopping area into a more attractive and appealing destination.

duluxA Dulux Paint Event will take place on Thursday 25th July in Traynors Hardware, John Street, Wexford from 6.15 to 9 pm. There will be a short presentation on the value to your premises of using Weathershield paint, experts will be on hand to consult on colour/technical advice and local painters will quote preferential rates. Drinks and finger food provided.

Weathershield orders placed by retailers on the night or between 26th July to 17th August will received a special discount in Traynors for this period. Traynors will be the point of contact for any sales enquiries or requests for information.

Madeleine Quirke CEO Wexford Chamber said ‘This (project) will mark the continuation of the town’s rejuvenation plan to encourage tourism and enterprise. Tidy Towns and Wexford in Bloom continue to bring great improvement and colour to Wexford Town and with everybody making an extra effort, Wexford Town will achieve further success in future Tidy Towns Competitions. Your shopfront is the most important advertisement you have. It is what creates the public’s first impression of your business. It makes the difference between potential customers either walking past, or calling in and making a purchase!!”.
Similar projects have taken place across Ireland and the results have been fantastic. Madeleine said “I would encourage every retail premises to take part in this scheme – it is affordable and will make such a difference to the overall appearance of our town.”
