Biodiversity Walk and Community Collaboration in Wexford

April 16 2026

We were delighted to co-host, with Wexford Local Development, a Biodiversity Walk and networking session with Wexford local community groups. bringing together a wide range of local stakeholders committed to enhancing our natural environment.

The afternoon began at Café Konnect, where attendees met with ecology expert Faith Wilson to discuss the vision for a proposed wildlife trail linking Selskar Abbey, Wexford Town. and Redmond Park.

The group then continued with a walk from Selskar Abbey, exploring the area and discussing the potential for developing a wildlife trail, with a focus on assessing the space and shaping a practical plan of action.

It was inspiring to see such strong collaboration, with representatives from Tidy Towns, Edible Wexford Community Garden Project, Wexford County Council, The Men’s Shed, Wexford Mental Health Association, Wexford Environmental Network, local residents, Selskar College, Wexford Lions Club and many more in attendance.

A great example of community, collaboration, and sustainability in action – we look forward to seeing how this exciting project develops.
